FREDDIE FOR A DAY CONCERT 2014
In celebration of Freddie Mercury's birthday, New York based Queen tribute band Almost Queen will host a very special 'Freddie For A Day' concert on Friday, September 5 at Highline Ballroom, 431 W 16th St, New York, NY. Partial proceeds and all merchandise sales from this event are to benefit The Mercury Phoenix Trust. The Mercury Phoenix Trust was founded in 1992 in memory of Freddie Mercury and is responsible for raising awareness and funding charities globally in the worldwide fight against AIDS.
Freddie For A Day is a fundraising initiative of the Mercury Phoenix Trust. FFAD encourages friends and fans around the world to spend the day dressed as Freddie Mercury to raise money for the Trust as well as awareness of HIV/AIDS.

In the spirit of the worldwide Freddie For A Day event, audience members are encouraged to come to the show dressed as Freddie Mercury. We invite those in full Freddie costume to join us on stage at Highline Ballroom NYC this Friday 9/5! The first 6 people in full Freddie costume to register at the AQ merchandise table before the show will join the band on stage during the show! Space is limited, you must be one of the first 6 to register before 7:30pm. We look forward to seeing your very best Freddie moves!

Queen tribute band Almost Queen has been performing for 10 years and in that time has gained the attention of Queen fans across the US, from Times Square in NYC to the coast of California, with a few international dates as well. The band is comprised of huge Queen fans, including Joseph Russo, who performs the role of Freddie Mercury. Joseph, a singer, actor, and pianist, has performed in numerous professional musical productions and spent many years touring Europe as the lead in the musical Hair before starting Almost Queen.
